You know how I had so much work last term? And earned a bit of extra money? And you know how Christmas is coming and I don't ask for much in the way of presents? Ahem.
And you know how even though your mantra for a happy home is: "No More Furniture"? But mine is: "Storage Is Key"?
And remember a couple of months ago when you said our bedroom just needed a few colourful pillowcases and you'd be happy?
Well what if we compromised and went for a colourful cupboard instead?
Now before you panic, let's just have a look at the detail on this thing.
You know my thoughts on tiles and teak and old stuff. Especially when they're painted and distressed and especially green?
And solid! It took two men to lift it into the car and only me and the dog and a couple of towels to get it out. (I didn't even scratch the walls this time)!
And we could always look on the bright side. Apparently it's an antique. I know what you're thinking Sherb, and I couldn't agree more. It's an investment piece!
And the roses love it too.
And there is so much storage for our collection of scarves and pillows and quilts. (Well alright. My scarves, pillows and quilts).
And it takes up no space at all. Look at it there, tucked in behind the old hospital verandah chair. Those two were just made for each other.
I have drooled over this thing since before last Christmas. Waited patiently for it to come on sale and quietly paid it off over months and months. Sherby, that shop is bursting with gorgeous stuff, by the end of the layby the owner practically paid me to get rid of it for her!
That's all for now hon. Just wanted to give you the heads up on how this cupboard chose to move in with us. I know we'll all be happy together and there's even enough space in there for you to shove all your little bits and pieces too. Love you xx
Seriously people. Sherby gets off the plane this afternoon. Have I made this thing look like it's always been there? Will he even notice? Or am I kidding myself? Tell me I am not alone in my problem area of furniture buying?
